Who is behind this junk removal company?
We are a small local outfit. We run our own truck, and the crew does this work every day. When you call, you talk to someone who knows the steep driveways and older homes around town, and the people who give you the estimate are the people who show up to do the lifting.
Our shop is on North Maple, and we work Monday through Friday. Most of our jobs are ordinary ones, like a couch that has to go or a garage that got away from someone. A good share are bigger, like the estate and downsizing work that comes up when a family needs to empty a home.
How do we price a junk removal job?
We price by how much space your items take on the truck, with adjustments for heavy material and hard access. You get a free estimate before any work starts, and the price we quote is the price you pay unless you add items. We do not add fuel surcharges or disposal fees at the end. If a job turns out smaller than we expected, you pay the smaller price.
What do we do differently on the job?
- We show up when we say. If we are running late, we call before the appointment window closes.
- We protect your house. We pad door frames and use floor runners when carrying heavy pieces through finished rooms.
- We sweep up. Every job ends with the area swept or raked.
- We keep what we can out of the landfill. Usable goods go to local charities, and metal goes to scrap recycling.
What won't we haul?
We do not take hazardous materials. That means no gasoline, motor oil, pesticides, pool chemicals, liquid paint, propane tanks or anything known to contain asbestos. Those need special handling through a hazardous waste program or a licensed abatement company. We also do not cut down standing trees or knock down houses. If you are not sure whether an item counts, call and ask. We would rather answer a question than leave something behind.
Are we licensed and insured?
Yes. Harrison Junk Removal is licensed and carries insurance for the work we do. That protects you if something goes wrong on your property while we are carrying items out. If we damage something, we make it right.
